I don’t have a problem with you as a person in any way, shape, or form at all. But I do have a problem with what this post says. What I’m about to say is not directed at you, but it is directed at society/culture.
We live in a culture where women (and sometimes even men) are taught that their greatest asset is to be physically attractive to the opposite sex. That they are literally nothing until someone finds them beautiful. There is a reason why you see a lot of young girls out there dressing in clothing that could be deemed too provocative for their age group. It’s because that 13 year old girl has already been conditioned to believe that she is an object and she is nothing more than her body/looks. She has already had her sexual power taken away from her. It’s a form of self objectification that is brought about/reinforced by sexism.
We need to start teaching our girls that while they are beautiful, they are also WORTHWHILE. They are smart, talented, imaginative, creative, kind, caring, insightful, thoughtful, ect…
And what’s more… I know that everyone’s experiences are relative that that posts like these are really only intended to apply to the person who chooses to post them… But there are girls out there who DO believe they are hot and they don’t need a man to tell them that they are. I’m sure you already know that. But I just wanted to comment on the potentially unintended arrogant ridiculousness of the post.
Anyway, I just wanted to voice my opinion. That’s all I wanted to say. Again, this was not directed at you, but at the post. :)
So true I completely agree with you I just thought it was cute but you are completely true!!
